Lunch and Learn "Dementia Perspectives" - Making Each Day Meaningful
April 23, 2019 –
The third presentation in the Lunch and Learn 2018-19 Series on "Dementia Perspectives" will feature Lisa Levine, who will lead a discussion about activities for people living with dementia, even as their disease progresses. Lisa's talk will include practical activity ideas and help attendees understand what it means to make something "meaningful" and "purposeful".
Lisa Levine is the Director of Education at Dementia Alliance of North Carolina. She began her career as an activity director in a skilled nursing facility and from there worked in almost every aspect of senior care. More recently, as a corporate regional memory care specialist, Lisa worked in seven states across the Southeast. She has over 30 years of experience with family and community support, working with Dementia Alliance of North Carolina for the past nine years.
Light snacks will be provided by Waltonwood Lake Boone. The Lunch and Learn Series is made possible by a partnership between Resources for Seniors, Wake County Community Resource Connections for Aging and Disabilities, and The Center for Volunteer Caregiving.
