Resources for Seniors
Resources for Seniors is a nonprofit organization serving senior adults and their caregivers in Wake County, North Carolina since 1973. Their mission is to provide home and community based services so that disabled and senior adults can maximize their independence for as long as possible while remaining in their homes. The Center for Volunteer Caregiving has partnered with Resources for Seniors for more than 20 years to provide volunteer respite services to family caregivers in Wake County.

Dementia Alliance of NC
Dementia Alliance of North Carolina provides personal, individualized support to thousands of families from across the state through an intentional model of support; one caregiver, one individual and one interaction at a time. Their programs offer CARE – Comfort, Assistance, Resources and Education to individuals and families living with dementia.
Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina
Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina, Inc. (GIENC®) provides innovative employment, educational, and life enrichment opportunities to local and regional communities throughout eastern North Carolina. GIENC is affiliated with Goodwill Industries International, a network of 155 autonomous community-based organizations across the United States and Canada. The Center for Volunteer Caregiving was a recipient of GIENC’s Agency Empowerment Program grant in 2024.
Meals on Wheels of Wake County
Since 1974, Meals on Wheels of Wake County has been providing nutritious meals to the homebound elderly and persons with disabilities in Wake County in an effort to improve health, reduce isolation, and prevent inappropriate institutionalization. Serving close to 1,300 meals daily to homes and nutrition centers, Meals on Wheels provides the frailest of our community’s citizens with a voice to achieve healthful independence.
National Volunteer Caregiving Network
The National Volunteer Caregiving Network (NVCN) is a membership network of local community volunteer caregiving programs, regional and state collaboratives, and individuals who support the work of volunteer caregiving. The purpose of the National Network is to promote the sharing of knowledge, experience and ideas that can help to strengthen and support the local volunteer caregiving programs that are currently active throughout the United States.
